'Some people believe football is a matter of life and death. I'm very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that.’ Bill Shankly.
With football culture becoming more and more a part of peoples lives, “Managers” is a photographic project that focuses on the isolation and emotions of managers in the English football leagues. Featuring managers who are in charge of teams in the top four divisions of English football. All of the photographs were taken during the 2013/14 football season. With managers being given contracts for up to 6 years then being sacked after less than a year, a few bad results make or break there success at a club. The project is built on black and white imagery, focusing primarily on the managers’ emotion during a football match.
